President of the United States Barack Obama is to address the nation on Thursday September 8th and his main focus is to be on job creation in this woeful economy. This is coming at a very important time because it has been a uproar from the unemployed for months now on how they are being discriminated against for being unemployed. Yes you read that right, On Tuesday August 30th the president was quoted saying, “makes absolutely no sense” when referring to hiring discrimination against the jobless while he was on the Tom Joyner radio show. This problem is a hard one to fight since there isn’t really anything illegal about it. Affirmative action it protects against race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation or national origin discrimination. But, there isn’t any statistical numbers showing that this violates any of those aspects...or does it ? In the black community unemployment is at 16.0% ;...
Today as we remember Dr. Martin Luther King, lets not get caught up in the dream and start focusing on the reality. Without realistic goals to accomplish, Martin Luther King would have fought for absolutely nothing ! I was blessed with being able to attend the 14th annual Rainbow PU$H coalition's breakfast in Manhattan where some of the greatest minds of our time, enlightened the public on our current situation in America. It aint all doom and gloom but we still have a while to go before we see the completion of Dr.King's dream for SOCIO-ECONOMIC equality.
