School for fools ?

Remember in High School how crucial the SAT's were ? I can clearly remember the  intense study sessions and mental breakdowns of those who didn't acquire the score they sought after. Dude im talking about people going into psychotic fits of rage when they didn't quite get that 1600 ( I blame their parents). Now lets fast forward to college. You know "party party party lets all get wasted" wake and bake, go to class with a killer hangover, rinse and repeat. Woah pardon my flashback but seriously, like...SERIOUSLY is it worth it ? Every Tom, Dick (emphasis on dick) & Jane has a college degree these days but with rising unemployment for graduates something doesn't add up.

Somewhere down the line somebody lied to our generation.

I was under the impression that when you get a degree, mysteriously a job alongside a house with a white pickett fence materializes into this dimension. Does that sound farfetched ? I hope not because I learned that in Physics 101 ^_^. Speaking of physics I was required to take that to get my bachellors in GRAPHIC DESIGN.

Im starting to think that college is more so a money making institution rather than a make YOU some money institution. *crickets*.

People these days are so closed minded, they dont think you can breathe right unless your an oxygen major.

Still dont see where im going with this ? Okay how about this one : when did the word "college student" become synonymous with a venarial disease ? Like "your in college eww we are looking for someone with 3-5 years experience." Experience ? I just did four years of this crap I GOT your experience ! OH you mean I have to graduate first and THEN go look for the experience huh ? So which internship do I have to whore myself out to so I can acquire this "experience" ?  If college is supposed to bring stability to your life after graduation in a VERY unstable economy that definitely sounds like a pipe dream, but hey what do I know, im just a college student.

I feel so conflicted about this issue. You know me. I graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering, and it feels like just that- Bull Shxt. I don’t regret going to school. I learned a lot books aside. I feel that depending on the profession you get into, you still have to go to school. For example engineers, doctors, lawyers. You need that background knowledge. Other things like design I feel you are better off just learning on the job Right now it’s best that you actually go to trade school because those jobs are more in demand as opposed to “entry level” jobs requiring experience. Bxtch! It’s entry! Why do I need experience? Freakin’ Catch -22. But I totally agree that schools are just money making institutions. SMH. Gotta love this ish -___-
